Greencastle, PA – Night Cleaning and Sanitation

Overall Responsibility: The cleaning and sanitation crew is responsible for all work related activities in regards to cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment, floors and drains on a nightly basis. The crew is responsible for and must work independently from communication relating to specific daily problem areas or specific needs in relation to the pre-operative inspections done in the mornings. The crew must report any problems directly to the QA Manager. The crew must be prepared to balance the time given per production fluctuations to thoroughly follow all the established procedures for effective food safety protection.

The sanitation crew must be prepared to change direction per customer or internal changes and/or requirements to satisfy processing needs.  Any issue that could potentially compromise food or personnel safety must be approved and/or analyzed by authorizing Manager before attending to that same situation.

Key areas of Responsibility

  1. On time punctuality and good attendance
  2. Always use PPE’s for personal protection when handling any chemical.
  3. Rinse, foam, scrub and wash, rinse and then sanitize the following:
    1. Pre-Loader
    2. Loader
    3. Orientator Table
    4. Spools
    5. Washers
    6. Dirt Detector
    7. Crack Detector
    8. Scales
    9. Dryer
    10. Transfer
    11. Packers 1-20
    12. Drop Brushes
    13. Pre and Post process Floors
    14. Gutters
    15. Drains
  4. Comply with all food safety procedures, regulatory requirements and process efficiencies
  5. Report any food safety issues to the QA Manager through the translator if necessary
  6. Follow all work place procedures per safety training
  7. Fill out the cleaning and sanitation log on a daily basis
  8. Assist co-workers as needed; teamwork
  9. Comply with Food Safety and GMP requirements at all times
  10. Any and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a production environment preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Extended periods of time standing and walking

  • Ability to keep up in fast-paced environment
